Initial On-line Application Submitted, What's Next?

Council on Accreditation will review the submitted documentation and determine the next step for your program.

What if I automatically qualify as an Approved Provider?

After submission of the initial online application, you may automatically qualify as an “Approved Provider”, the highest possible level of quality. If you automatically qualify, congratulations! You will be notified by COA that you have completed the application process and you will not complete an ERIS assessment nor undergo a site visit.

Please visit Application Process & Timeframe to see requirements for an automatic qualification.

What if my program doesn’t automatically qualify as an Approved Provider?

If your program does not automatically qualify, you will continue with the next key component of the application process: the Effectiveness Rating and Improvement System (ERIS) assessment. COA will send instructions for completing the ERIS self-assessment online and for uploading appropriate documentation, such as copies of program policies and background checks. After you complete and submit the ERIS online, COA will undertake a desk review of the application and all electronically uploaded documentation.

Visit Understanding the ERIS for more information about this assessment tool and what happens next with the application process.
