Achieving & Sustaining Approval

What happens after we achieve approval?

In addition to training and technical assistance that are available to all providers, applicants who achieve Approved Provider status may be eligible for additional benefits in the form of equipment, supplies, facility improvements or subsidy payments for the child care space for eligible Department of Defense children.

Approved Providers will also receive a certificate of Approved Provider status. This certificate will be valid for two years, with the option to recertify at that time. A list of Approved Providers will be posted on the Military OneSource website at www.militaryonesource.com and will be available through the 24 hour, seven-days-a-week referral line at 1-800-342-9647.

How do we sustain approval?

Approved Provider status expires two years from the date that Approved Provider status was granted. If the provider qualified for Approved Provider status based on accreditation, Approved Provider status expires upon accreditation expiration. To sustain Approved Provider status, applicants must either be re-evaluated using ERIS or must provide proof of re-accreditation. Providers should arrange for re-evaluation at least four to six months in advance of their expiration deadline.

If a provider has their license or accreditation revoked, they must immediately report this to COA and may lose their status in the Expansion Project. If a provider receives any sanctions from a governmental or accrediting organization, they must also report this to COA and may lose their status in the Expansion Project.
